NOTARISING SPANISH POWER OF ATTORNEY
After a Spanish power of attorney has been drafted, but before it is legalised, it needs to be signed by Mr Wagner in his capacity as a notary public and by the clients in their capacity as the donors of the power of attorney.
The procedure is for Mr Wagner to telephone the donor so that a mutually convenient date and time can be arranged for the signing of the Spanish power of attorney. Directions on how to find 6 Lower Burch Row, Eyam, Sheffield, S32 5QF will normally have been sent by post along with the written terms and conditions of business.
When going to Eyam for the signing of their Spanish power of attorney, clients should remember to take their passports with them. It should be noted that whilst Mr Wagner does accept out-of-date passports as proof of identity, many organisations and individuals do not. In fact, it is recommended that if there is less than 6 months left to run on your passport, that you get a new a passport and use the new passport as the basis for your ID.
Sometimes it is not possible or convenient for a donor to sign the Spanish power of attorney at Eyam, but rather a convenient date and time needs to be arranged for the power of attorney to be signed at their place of work or residence. Travelling and waiting in such circumstances is charged at just £35.00 an hour with no VAT needing to be added on top. The charge for travelling and waiting is in addition to the base cost of £75.00 of getting the Spanish power of attorney notarised.
For one or two donors/clients signing only one Spanish power of attorney at the same session the charge made for notarisation is just £75.00 with no VAT being payable on top because Mr Wagner is not VAT registered.
If more than two people need to sign the one Spanish power of attorney as donors and/or more than one signing session is required, each extra person or signing session attracts an additional charge of just £50.00.
Therefore, if, for example, three individuals need to sign the Spanish power of attorney the cost is £75.00 + £50.00 = £125.00.
If, for example, two people need to sign a single Spanish power of attorney at two different times of the day the cost is £75.00 + £50.00 = £125.00.
If, for example, five people need to sign the one Spanish power of attorney the charge is £75.00 + £50.00 + £50.00 + £50.00 = £225.00.
If, for example, a person who is housebound has the Spanish power of attorney signed at their home and the travelling took a total of very approximately one hour, the cost is £75.00 + £35.00 = £110.00
